Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 5, 2026
Welcome to Video Translate (the "Platform"), available at videotranslators.com. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our AI video translation and voice-cloning dubbing services.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, data generated when you use the Platform, and limited data from third-party sign-in or payment providers.
- Account information: When you sign in (for example with Google), we receive your name, email address, and profile image as permitted by that provider. We store an account identifier and preferences linked to your profile.
- User content: Videos you upload, audio extracted from those videos, transcripts, translations, synthesized speech, and dubbed output files you generate or download.
- Payment and billing metadata: If you purchase credits or a plan, payment is processed by our payment partners (such as Waffo). We receive order IDs, amounts, currency, and payment status—not full card numbers.
- Usage and technical data: Job IDs, processing status, error logs, timestamps, IP address, browser type, and similar diagnostics needed to operate and secure the service.
- Support and feedback: Messages you send through in-product feedback or email support.
2. How we use your information
- Service delivery: To run dubbing jobs—upload handling, speech recognition, translation, voice synthesis, audio mixing, and delivery of output video.
- Account and credits: To authenticate you, maintain credit balances, record usage, and show order history.
- Security and abuse prevention: To detect fraud, enforce acceptable use, and protect the Platform.
- Improvement: To fix bugs, measure reliability, and improve product experience using aggregated or de-identified data where possible.
- Legal compliance: To respond to lawful requests and enforce our terms.
3. AI processing and model training
Video Translate uses automated speech, translation, and synthesis systems (including third-party inference APIs) to produce results you request.
- Processing scope: Your content is processed only to complete the jobs you start and to store outputs for your account during the retention period below.
- No training on your content: We do not use your videos, voice recordings, or generated outputs to train, fine-tune, or improve general-purpose models for other customers. Temporary voice characteristics used for a job are not sold or licensed to third parties for model training.
- Models used for your jobs: Primary inference models (via Replicate) include: Vocal / music separation — Demucs (htdemucs) via Replicate — cjwbw/demucs; Speech recognition (ASR) — WhisperX via Replicate — victor-upmeet/whisperx; Script translation — Meta Llama 3 8B Instruct via Replicate — meta/meta-llama-3-8b-instruct; Voice synthesis (English and supported Chatterbox languages) — Chatterbox via Replicate — resemble-ai/chatterbox; Voice synthesis (other supported target languages) — CosyVoice 2 0.5B via Replicate — chenxwh/cosyvoice2-0.5b (configurable). See also our Pricing page.
4. Data storage and retention
- Media retention: Uploaded source files and dubbed outputs are stored in Cloudflare R2 (or equivalent object storage) with encryption in transit (TLS). Unless you delete them sooner or we must retain data for legal reasons, media objects are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Account records: We keep account, billing, and credit ledger records while your account is active and as needed for accounting, dispute resolution, and legal obligations.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these situations:
- Service providers: Infrastructure hosts, object storage (Cloudflare R2), payment processors (e.g. Waffo), authentication (Google OAuth via NextAuth), and AI inference providers (e.g. Replicate for ASR, translation, and speech synthesis). These parties process data under contractual or terms-based limits for providing the service.
- Legal and safety: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the Platform.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection consistent with this policy.
6. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location (for example GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port personal data, and to object to certain processing.
To exercise these rights, email support@videotranslators.com. We may verify your identity before deleting jobs, media, or account data. You can also delete finished assets from your account where the product provides that control.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and similar storage for session authentication and security. If we add analytics or marketing cookies, we will update this section and provide choices where required by law.
8. International transfers
We and our subprocessors may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
9. Children's privacy
The Platform is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
